How to count the number of people にんずう in Japanese

 

◆ The number of people (にんずう) ◆

This is the counter for people, except if there is just one person, or if there are two people. For one person, you say hitori (一人, ひとり) and for two, you say futari (二人, ふたり).

	1 person ひとり ▶︎ listen hitori
	2 people ふたり▶︎ listen futari
	3 people さんにん▶︎ listen sannin
	4 people よにん▶︎ listen yonin
	5 people ごにん▶︎ listen gonin
	6 people ろくにん▶︎ listen rokunin
	7 people ななにん▶︎ listen nananin
	8 people はちにん▶︎ listen hachinin
	9 people きゅうにん▶︎ listen kyunin
	10 people じゅうにん▶︎ listen jyunin
